We all need that day that is completely set aside for self-care. I don't usually allow myself to do these types of days because I feel like if I do, I'm not being productive. I realize now that having a self-care day is being productive. It's important to set some time aside for yourself and give yourself a little break. Here are some tips and ideas on how to have one.
~ Drink lots of water! It is so important to stay hydrated, especially on a self-care day. If you have lots of fluids flowing through you, you're going to feel more energized and, a bonus, you're skin will feel smoother!
~ Read a book or watch a movie that makes you feel good. It's important to relax and refresh your mind by doing these things.
~ List 5 things you like about yourself. Part of a self-care day is loving yourself. It's important to love yourself because if you don't, as you probably know, you can't love others.
~ Put on a face mask and binge-watch your favorite tv show.
~ Eat food that you love, but let the majority of it be healthy. It's okay to give yourself a little treat, but you don't want to be eating a bucket of ice cream for lunch.
~ Take a nap, listen to some smooth jazz, or whatever music makes you feel calm.
~ Do some yoga to relieve muscle tension.
~ Do something creative
